At Psych Associates, we want your therapy to stay focused on you — not on what an insurance company allows or requires. Because of that, we avoid contracting with insurance companies. This helps us protect your privacy, avoid unnecessary restrictions, and tailor your treatment to what’s truly best for you.

That said, we don’t want cost to stand in the way of care. Many of our clients use their out-of-network benefits, and we’re happy to provide the paperwork and guidance you need to request reimbursement from your insurance company.

Your therapy is an investment in your well-being, and we’re here to make the process as simple and supportive as possible.

We know that when you reach out for therapy, you don’t want to wait weeks to be seen. That’s why we offer flexible hours — 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Because of this flexibility, we can usually schedule your first session within a few days.

Whether you prefer in-office sessions or online options, we’ll do our best to get you started quickly and at a time that works for you.

Most therapy sessions last about 50 minutes. However, your therapist will always consider your unique needs and goals. One of the advantages of working with us is that we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach — we’ll listen and adjust your treatment plan so it truly supports your progress.

We don’t provide medication management at Psych Associates. However, we know that sometimes medication can be an important part of treatment. That’s why we work closely with your primary care provider and have strong relationships with trusted local psychiatrists. Together, we can make sure you get the complete care you need.

You have two easy options:

  1. Call our office — Our team will answer your questions, help match you with the right therapist, and schedule your first session (417)414-0333.

  2. Book online — If you’d like to choose your own provider, you can watch our therapists’ short bio videos, find the best fit for you, and schedule directly online.

Whether you call or click, we’ll make the process simple and welcoming so you can get started with confidence.

We offer both in-person and online therapy. Many clients prefer coming into our office because in-person sessions allow for deeper connection and fewer distractions. However, we also understand that life can get busy, and sometimes online sessions are the best fit.

That said, some types of therapy work better in person.  If you’re unsure which option is right for you or your family, we’ll help you decide what will work best.

The frequency of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others may start with sessions every other week or even less frequently. Your therapist will work with you to develop a schedule that supports your progress and fits your life.

We focus on what works best for you, and your plan can always be adjusted as you make progress or as your needs change.

During your first session, your therapist will take time to get to know you, understand your goals, and explore the challenges you’re facing. You’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve in therapy.

Many clients feel a mix of nervousness and relief — that’s completely normal. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and understood from the very beginning.

To help you feel even more prepared, you can watch our Instagram video walking you through your first visit , or read our blog, “Your First Therapy Appointment: What to Expect and How to Prepare” that explains what you can expect.

Our office is located at 1358 E Kingsley, Suite E, Springfield, MO. It’s conveniently situated near the Medical Mile, making it easy to access from many parts of Springfield. At the same time, our suite provides a private and comfortable setting, so you can feel relaxed and secure during your visits.

It’s completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. Many people have questions about whether it’s the right step for them. At Psych Associates, we’re here to help you explore your needs and provide guidance.
