Choosing a path for your future is hard, even for people that know what they want to do. It is a cruel joke that people have to make huge decisions that will impact the rest of their lives at such a young age. Even the small choices that seem insignificant can change an outcome in your future. You need to determine what matters and what you need to do, and that’s exactly what our counselors do for people every day.
It is difficult to watch your son or daughter struggle with these decisions as parents. It is tempting to tell them what to do, but if you do, then they aren’t learning to take responsibility for themselves. It feels like you are wrong no matter what you do or don’t do.
