Introduction

Melissa specializes in treating infidelity, trauma, depression, and anxiety.  There are a lot of relationships and situations that hurt us and Melissa helps her clients find how to overcome these. Her therapy goals include helping you appreciate that you are not invisible or alone and to find your value. She wants to help you reconnect with what really matters to you and to understand who you are at your core.  Melissa joined Psych Associates in 2022  because she loves helping people reach their goals and being part of a supportive team.

Current Focus & Interests

Melissa is currently building a new program to help people recover from infidelity in their relationships. She works with individuals experiencing trauma using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). She also uses cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy to help people heal from depression and beat their anxiety. Melissa is a wife and mom of one daughter. She enjoys traveling, singing, and spending time with her family and two fur babies.

Experience

Melissa came to Psych Associates with a great deal of experience. While in Texas, she worked in an Adolescent Residential Treatment Center, inpatient adult/adolescent psychiatric units, and a children’s medical center.

After moving to Missouri, Melissa began a career as a Community Support Specialist and Supervisor and Project Director for a National Institute of Mental Health grant. She served as the Community Mental Health Liaison assisting Law Enforcement and Court Officials in Southwest Missouri. Melissa went on to work for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Jail, assessing inmates on close observation for suicide risk, overseeing mental health interns, and educating correctional officers on mental health.
